Government Girls Polytechnic, Jhansi was formerly known as Veerangna Jhalkari Bai Government Girls Polytechnic became functional in a limited territorial expanse in 1992, with bare minimum facilities.
During the last 26 years, the Institute has undergone a phenomenal evolution. It has transformed into a massive monument with all facilities, extended over an area of 16 acres.

Veerangna Jhalkari Bai Government Girls Polytechnic since its inception in 1992 is striving ahead to create a niche for itself through its qualitative and quantitative measures in Technical Education.

Courses.

1. DIPLOMA IN COMPUTER SCIENCE ENGG ( DURATION-3 YRS).

Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the college was established in the year 2002 with an intake of 60 students.
Since its inception, the department has always been recognized for excellence in teaching and outstanding students’ performance at the global level and for the excellent placement record in various international/national companies.
Department provides an ambient teaching-learning environment for its students through qualified, experienced faculty and smart classroom facility.
The course structure is as per Board of Technical Education, Uttar Pradesh and includes courses on nascent topics to equip our students with the latest developments in Computer Science Engineering to bridge the gap with the industry.

2. DIPLOMA IN ELECTRONICS ENGG. (DURATION – 3 YRS).

The Department of Electronics  Engineering established in 1992, with an intake of 60.   The department has qualified and experienced faculty in all cadre ratios in various specializations.
 Department regularly organizes and conduct Various workshops for students so that the student is aware of the latest technology and its trend.
The department has excellent records of Campus Placement in various national companies and international companies  Industrial visits to HEG, BHEL, Railways, Anant Spinning Mills, National Fertilizers Limited etc.
are regularly organized for making the students friendly with the industrial environment and understand the application of the subjects.

3. DIPLOMA IN ELECTRICAL ENGG. ( DURATION – 3 YRS).

Department of Electrical is established in 1992 with an intake of 60 at diploma level. The department has qualified, experienced and adequate faculty in cadre ratio.
Department encourages to  “To impart knowledge of electrical engineering and mold students into world-class professional to achieve excellence in engineering education and research.”
The department has good records of placement in prominent companies.

4. DIPLOMA IN FASHION DESIGNING & GARMENT TECHNOLOGY( DURATION -3 YRS).

Garment technology, as the name implies is a discipline where you learn about the different technical aspects of the production of garments.
The course is designed for those who have never had any exposure to industry level sewing but wants to make a career in this field.
You look after the technical aspect of the production of garments. A fashion technologist will design the new dresses, but it is a garment technologist who decides if the design can actually be created.
You also choose the best method for creating the garment and may modify the design as necessary by practical limitation.
You have to make sure that the correct techniques and the most appropriate machine is used in the production of the garment.
It is also your responsibility to keep an eye on the cost and come up with the most cost-effective combination of material and method for the garments.
Overall, a person specialized in garment technology looks after the technical aspect of the creation of the garments in addition to acting as a consultant to fashion designers and marketing personnel.

5. DIPLOMA IN INSTRUMENTATION & CONTROL ENGG (DURATION – 3YRS).

 Instrumentation is defined as the art and science of measurement and control of the process variables within a production or manufacturing area.
The process variables used in industries are Level, Pressure, Temperature, Humidity, Flow, pH, Force, Speed etc.
Control engineering or control systems engineering is the engineering discipline that applies control theory to design systems with desired behaviors.
Control engineers are responsible for the research, design, development and control devices/systems, typically in manufacturing facilities and plants.
The practice uses sensors to measure the output performance of the device being controlled and those measurements can be used to give feedback to the input actuators that can make corrections toward desired performance.
When a device is designed to perform without the need for human inputs for correction it is called automatic control.
Multi-disciplinary in nature, control systems engineering activities focus on the implementation of control systems mainly derived by mathematical modeling of systems of a diverse range.
