Government Medical College, Kota was started in 1992, by the Government of Rajasthan the purpose of imparting medical education as well as providing health care facilities to the people of the near located Region Kota, state. The college is affiliated to Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS). The opening of the medical college area the way for the people of region, to receive education as well as medical services in a convenient way. The institute offers a variety of medical courses for undergraduates as well as postgraduates. Govt. Medical College Kota provides an ideal atmosphere for education and learning. It offers all the basic facilities to its students, within its campus.
The GMC Kota started in 1992 in a portion of ESI hospital, Kota. It moved into its own spacious campus around 2Km square in 1997.Some Hospital like MBS hospital and Jay Kay Lon were the associated hospitals while NMC hospital is the recently attached.
The number of MBBS seats was 50 at the beginning which has now increased to 250, from 2019 batch. Besides MBBS, the college offers MD/MS and super specialty programs.
