University College of Engineering Kota

Presently known University College of Engineering Kota, formerly known as Government Engineering College Kota. However, it is an autonomous technical institute in North India.

In fact, University College of Engineering Kota houses the headquarters of Rajasthan Technical University.

However, the University College of Engineering Kota was established in 1981 by the government of Rajasthan and was named as Engineering College, Kota.

Besides this, the University College of Engineering Kota is now a constituent college of Rajasthan Technical University.

Further, only the top-ranked of Rajasthan Pre-Engineering Test (RPETEAP) get admission to the institution.

Since the inception of University College of Engineering Kota, over 8000 engineers have graduated from the institute. The students are given theoretical and practical knowledge, enriched by industry oriented training and project works. The institute hosts seminars, symposium, short-term courses, competitions, and contests.

UTD-RTU is located on the outskirts of Kota on the banks of the Chambal river. The campus is spread over 385 acres (1.56 km2) (the largest campus in Rajasthan) and comprises six academic blocks, lecture theatre building, one administrative block, one library building, one gymnasium, one building for the proctor, training and placement activities, electrical and mechanical workshops, and various laboratories.

In fact, campus amenities include canteen shops, bank, post office, dispensary, and shopping center.

There are four boys and two girls hostel. Having, brand new hostel buildings for both boys and girls.

A gymnasium, three indoor badminton halls, a football ground and a cricket ground are also present inside the campus.

Residential quarters are provided to faculty members and supporting staff. For visitors, a guest house with kitchen facility has been provided.

University College of Engineering Kota

Thar is a grand technical event that takes place at UTD-RTU every year. Various colleges across North, West and Central India take part in this event. Thar comprises competitions related to aeromodelling, programming, robotics, and Robo-wars, project building, logic and aptitude testing, etc. Event days includes Dance Nights wherein various stars come and perform.
