Meera Bai Polytechnic came into existence in the year 1962. This Polytechnic College was started in the name of Women’s Polytechnic and it is an Affiliated College situated in New Delhi.
When the college was started, Polytechnic courses in Interior Design, Architecture Assistantship, Medical Lab Technology, Commercial Art, and Library Science streams were offered.
It is accredited from AICTE Hostel facility is not available for its students. Additional campus facilities such as Academic Zone, Canteen, Computer Lab, Library, Cls. Room, Sports, Grounds are also there.
Meera Bai Institute of Technology(MBIT) started its glorious journey as Women’s Polytechnic at Dayal Singh Library, ITO on 10th September 1962. Best Digital Marketing Institute In Indore.
With the objective to train technical manpower to meet the needs of the state and to make young women self-dependent by achieving professional qualifications.
It was renamed as Meera Bai Polytechnic in 1994 and rechristened as Meerabai Institute of Technology in 2010. We are running 10 diversified Engineering and Non-Engineering diploma courses, which are of 2 to 3 years duration.

ARCHITECTURAL  ASSISTANTSHIP

This three-year course develops students into architectural professionals. The current syllabus has been revamped and entirely rewritten in 2013 as per current industry requirements.

The architectural professionals organize space and design houses, office buildings,  skyscrapers, landscapes, and even design interior and execute projects.

They are trained in many areas like designing & constructional aspects, climate and environment considerations, building services, bylaws, graphics and rendering, material usage and importantly working and municipal drawings.

Besides they are taught surveying, basic structural design, and inputs into running and managing offices. They are also given deep insights into relevant computer software usage, model making etc.

They may be involved with designing the total built environment-from how a building integrates with its surrounding landscape to architectural or construction details that involve the interior of the buildings.

APPLIED ART

The three year training in Commercial Art focuses on the development of creative ability and understanding of human psychology in different media and professional skills through study of subjects like Basic  Design Lettering & Typography, Press Layout, Illustration Sketching, Poster  Design and Study of life/nature and objects.

Diploma holders in this department can choose to work as Graphic designers in Govt. organizations, Advertising Agencies, design studios, publishing houses, TV channels,  Art and Craft Teacher in teaching institutes and can also work as a freelance artist.

COSMETOLOGY AND  HEALTH

ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING

This course has been designed to provide in-depth knowledge of theory & practical in the emerging & latest areas of electronics that includes Advanced Communication System, Microwave Engg.,  TV engg., Digital & Microprocessor etc.

This course aims at making the students capable of testing and using different electronic devices, fabricating & maintaining electronic and communication instruments, making and interpreting technical drawings, maintaining communication systems, understanding industrial processes and communicating effectively.

They get jobs in reputed companies in production research, quality control, sales & service, customer support etc.

Interior Design

3-Years course of Interior Design teaches the techniques of enhancing every inch of internal space(Residential &  Commercial), planning & aesthetics of different structures.

The course contents include CAD training on computers using the latest software’s, workshop practice in carpentry, fitting, welding, painting, and polishing.

Six weeks of industrial training is an integral part of the course. To enhance entrepreneurial skills and generate self-employment specific subjects.

like  Entrepreneurship and Elements of Business Management are being taught apart from basic subjects related to the field of Interior Design. Thus the students are also prepared for self-employment.

Library and Information Science

The department imparts thorough knowledge to manage and run the libraries scientifically. It trains the students for efficient and effective handling of library technical and professional work, to arrange the resources of the library on scientific lines and assist the readers in the maximum exploitation of library resources.

After the successful completion of the course, the students can take up jobs as librarians in schools, industrial training institutes, polytechnic college, and public libraries.

They can also work in various academic, public and government libraries and an autonomous organization.

Designation of library professionals as assistant librarians,  library assistant, senior professional assistants in government and private degree colleges, varies from organization to organization depending upon their further academic and professional upgradation.

Medical  Lab Technology

The diploma programme aims at imparting suitable training to students, so that they may conduct different examination on body fluids and prepare reports.

They are also taught to use, manage difference laboratories and maintain pieces of equipment used in the clinical labs of the hospitals, to communicate effectively with doctors, patients and representatives of business organizations.

A diploma holder can be appointed as a laboratory technician in laboratories of various departments in medical colleges, hospitals, and private laboratories. They can also join pharmaceutical concerns.

Bachelor  Of Business Administration(BBA)

Meera Bai Institute of Technology started Bachelor of  Business Administration (BBA) three-year degree course under the aegis of Guru  Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in the year 2009.

BBA is a unique degree programme that has been designed to meet the ever-growing demand for skilled administrative personnel.

While pursuing a graduate degree, students simultaneously build up their managerial, secretarial and technological skills and thus become eligible for all those positions where skill-based competencies are needed in combination with essential graduation degree.

Course contents of BBA include various management subjects that include all branches of management like HR, Marketing, Finance etc. along with one secretarial and one IT  applications based subject in each semester.

After successful completion, our students get job opportunities in government as well as private sector as HR  personnel, Marketing executives, Finance or Accounts Handlers, Office executives in addition to be entrepreneurs or if they wish they may pursue higher studies and touch new horizons in the vast sky.

BACHELOR OF  VOCATION(APPLIED ART)

The undergraduate technical programme, Bachelor of Vocation(Applied  Art) is a three-year programme that is based on the National Skill Qualification Framework started from the Academic session 2015-16 in Meera Bai Institute of Technology, affiliated to GGSIPU,  Dwarka, New Delhi.
The three-year Bthe.Voc programme contains a module for each year with learning outcomes based on developing competencies.
